Having just completed her successful appearance on the highest rated season of Celebrity Apprentice, it provided the perfect platform to let La Toya Jackson fans see her entrepreneurial side as she announces the launch of her latest projects. Her highly anticipated second book and first EP in over fifteen years, both entitled Starting Over are due out June 21st along side her latest product; ASAP (Auto Spa Amazing Products) - a line of premium car care products.

 

Simon & Schuster/Gallery Books in partnership with Ja-Tail Publishing Company, will publish La Toya Jackson’s explosive memoir STARTING OVER on June 21, 2011.  In an account sure to send shockwaves around the globe, La Toya sheds new light on the dynamics of the Jackson family and discloses the truth behind the curtain of secrecy and intrigue that has surrounded her brother Michael and the rest of the Jackson children. She will explain her estrangement and her gradual reconciliation with one of America’s most famous families.

 

In the book, La Toya will share her own journey to hell and back at the hands of her former manager and husband, Jack Gordon. La Toya divulges some of the most painful episodes of her life with an open heart and complete honesty. While she was unable to save Michael, she was able to find the courage to rebuild her shattered sense of self, her career and her relationship with her family, to finally break free.

 

Her first EP release in over 15 years features songs that are inspired by incidents written about in the book. The title track, Starting Over, is an inspirational anthem that is about overcoming and empowerment. The single will be available on iTunes and is distributed on Ja-Tail Records/Bungalo Records, Universal Music Group.

 

On Celebrity Apprentice, La Toya was able to show a gentle but firm way of doing business and won over the often-critical public who had once perceived her in a negative light. She was the only Apprentice contestant to ever fight her way into being hired back after an unjust Trump firing, while simultaneously raising $65,000 dollars for Aids Project Los Angeles.

 

La Toya was born into America’s Royal Family of Music, the Jackson’s. As one of the younger children, she was exposed to music, and the business of music, all of her life. La Toya made her debut at the MGM grand hotel in Las Vegas, tap dancing and singing with her brothers, The Jackson Five. Having come from an extraordinarily talented family La Toya decided to make show business a part of her life as well and has extensively traveled the world, performing in more than 90 countries. A true renaissance woman, Jackson has emerged as a successful entertainer, Grammy Award-Winning songwriter, best-selling author, entrepreneur, television star and international icon. In addition to her music successes, (Heart Don't Lie, Billboard Hot 100 #56 and "Just Wanna Dance" reaching #13 on the US Billboard Hot Dance chart.) Jackson penned her first book in 1991 "La Toya, Growing Up In The Jackson Family" which made media history and was on the New York Times Best Seller List at the #2 position for several weeks, selling millions of copies worldwide.

 

In 2007 and 2009, La Toya appeared in television shows such as Armed & Famous, which premiered on CBS starring Jackson and other celebrities (Jackson currently maintains her badge by continuing to volunteer as a deputy) and on the British television program Celebrity Big Brother.

 

The consummate philanthropist, La Toya dedicates herself to a combination of several causes stemming from both her own experiences and following through with the causes her beloved brother Michael initiated. One of their common charities is Aids Project Los Angeles, which provides resources to those living with HIV/Aids, where La Toya donates both financially as well as her time. Due to her personal experience with abuse, Jackson is also focused on battered woman’s shelters. In July of 2009, "Home" was released in Michael's memory with all proceeds going to APLA.

 

Most recently in March 2010, La Toya has tapped into her entrepreneurial side launching a luxurious hand cream entitled, Dream Cream; a hand cream from German cosmetics firm Alessandro International. La Toya plans to announce many other ventures in 2011.

 

La Toya is consistently sought after by International media outlets and has been featured on several major interviews including Barbara Walters, ABC News, as well as international television and print interviews. Jackson’s appearance on Larry King Live in March of 2003 caused CNN's phone lines to stay busy for hours and was King's highest-rated show in three years.
